Play & learning
Whilst at Cliff House, your child’s play, activities and personal development will be planned for and monitored within the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (or EYFS for short). This is the revised Early Years curriculum that was introduced in 2012 by the Department for Education
The Curriculum is divided in to 3 Prime and 4 Specific areas of learning.
Prime:
- Communication & language
- Physical Development
- Personal, Social & Emotional Development
Specific:
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts & Design
What this means in plain English is that each child will have the best play and learning opportunities to enable them to reach their potential. They'll have loads of fun, make discoveries, form friendships, create 'masterpieces', probably get a bit mucky, become independent learners and thinkers, they'll ask questions, sing songs, be happy and generally have a great time!
